Terms of Use

1. Scope

These terms apply to every aspect of the relationship between you and us regarding the App. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to them.

2. Reader's card

• A "reader's card" is an account that stores your book records in the cloud so you can use them on more than one device.
• You can use every feature of the App without a reader's card. Create one only if you want your records kept in the cloud.
• Creating a reader's card requires a valid email address. You sign in using a link sent to that address.
• You are responsible for looking after that sign-in link and your email account. We are not liable for loss arising from their use by a third party.
• You can delete your reader's card at any time from within the App.

3. Prohibited conduct

You must not do any of the following.

• Break the law or act against public order and morals.
• Infringe the rights or interests of other users, third parties, or us.
• Interfere with the operation of the App or place an excessive load on our servers.
• Gain, or attempt to gain, unauthorised access to the App or the services it connects to.
• Impersonate another person, or use another person's personal information as your nickname.
• Decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse engineer the App, except where the law allows it.
• Anything else we reasonably consider inappropriate.

4. Book information

Book information shown in the App (title, author, cover image, price, publication date and so on) comes from the Google Books API. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, or up to date.

Prices in particular are those retrieved at the time and may differ from the actual selling price.

5. Advertising and affiliate links

• The App displays advertising through Google AdMob.
• Links in the App to Amazon.co.jp are affiliate links under the Amazon Associates Programme. We may receive a commission if a purchase is made through such a link.
• We are a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme.

6. Your data and our liability

• Cloud storage through a reader's card is intended as a secondary copy of your book records. We do not guarantee that records will not be lost.
• Records may fail to sync, or may be lost, because of network conditions, the state of your device, or faults in the services we rely on.
• You should keep your own copy of anything important.
• We are not liable for loss arising from your use of the App, except where caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

7. Changes, suspension and discontinuation

• We may change the App, or suspend it, without notice.
• If we discontinue the App we will give notice in advance where we can, in the App or in the store listing.
• Our liability for loss arising from such changes is limited as set out in section 6.

8. Personal information

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms where we consider it necessary. Changes take effect once announced in the App or in the store listing.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, in the first instance, of the Japanese court having jurisdiction over our place of business.
