The iOS version is in preparation

The My Books screen, showing added books as a shelf of covers with read and unread told apart.

Three moves, one more book on the shelf

There is nothing to learn. Just read the barcode on the back cover.

  1. Hold up the barcode

Point the camera at the ISBN barcode on the back cover. There is nothing to type in.

  2. Check the book that appears

The title, author and cover are shown. Choose Add if it is right, or close the dialog if it is not.

  3. It lands on the shelf

The book joins My Books. For books without a barcode, a title search works just as well.

What it does

Only the features a bookshelf needs.

  • The book detail screen, with author, publication date, description and the button that switches between read and unread.

    Tell read from unread

Every book in My Books can be marked Read or Unread, so finished books and the pile you are still working through are easy to tell apart.

  • The Wishlist screen, showing books not owned yet alongside their purchase links.

    Keep a wishlist apart

Books you do not own yet go to the Wishlist, and the detail view opens the matching page on Amazon.co.jp. Purchase links include Amazon Associates affiliate links.

  • The screen for adding a new book, with a search field labelled “Input title of the book” and a search button.

By title search or by barcode

Books without a barcode, and books you do not have to hand, can be added with a title search. If you try to add the same book twice, the app tells you it is already there.

Reader's card

Your books normally live on this device alone. Create a reader’s card and a copy is kept in the cloud, ready to be read back on another device.

The reader's card screen, showing the card with a nickname and the number of books finished and still waiting.

Every bookshelf feature works without a reader’s card. You can decide later whether you want one.

  • Sign in by opening a link sent to your email address. There is no password.
  • The nickname and the colour of the card are yours to change. The card shows how many books you have finished and how many are still waiting.
  • Back up and sync can be switched off at any time. While it is off, changes stay on this device.
  • The card can be deleted from inside the app. The cloud copy and the account go away, and the books on this device stay.
